Senator Binos D. Yareo has facilitated the donation of medical equipment to the Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) in Kajoli, Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Speaking during the handover, Yaroe explained that the equipment was provided by the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) to strengthen healthcare delivery in underserved border communities.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on BCDA, the senator said the intervention would also extend to the Fufore community.

He stressed that the gesture was aimed at ensuring residents of border areas could access quality healthcare within Nigeria, rather than crossing into neighbouring Cameroon.

“Before now, this facility had good structures but lacked equipment. With the intervention of BCDA, we now have beds, surgical tools, and other medical commodities to upgrade this centre,” Yaroe said.

Dr. George Kelly, Executive Secretary of BCDA, represented by Mrs Roselyn Abuh, said the agency is committed to providing socioeconomic infrastructure in neglected border communities across 21 states, 105 local government areas, and over 3,000 settlements. According to him, the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,

Items delivered to Kajoli PHCC included hospital beds, mattresses, operating tables, surgical kits, wheelchairs, and sterilising equipment.

With the support of additional medical personnel provided by Senator Yaroe, the facility has now been upgraded to a cottage hospital capable of handling emergencies and surgical cases.

Traditional leaders, health officials, and community representatives at the event praised the intervention, noting that it would significantly reduce maternal risks, improve emergency response, and enhance healthcare services for both local residents and neighbouring border communities.

The committee was also in the Fufore Local Government Area on the same mission.
