Federal University of Education Numan Bill Still on Track, Senator Yaroe Assures Constituents
• Reaffirms Commitment to Ensuring Bill’s Final Approval
Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, representing Adamawa South in the Nigerian Senate, has reassured his constituents that the bill to establish the Federal University of Education in Numan remains on course despite necessary corrections requested by the presidency. He emphasized his commitment to seeing the bill through to its logical conclusion and ensuring that it meets all constitutional and procedural requirements.
Speaking at a stakeholder feedback meeting in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, Senator Yaroe clarified that the bill was not rejected by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Instead, the president identified certain clerical errors that needed to be rectified before granting approval. The senator assured the people that these issues would be promptly addressed and the bill resubmitted once the Senate reconvenes.
During his address, Senator Yaroe provided details about the corrections required by the presidency. One of the key issues highlighted was an error in the assignment of land authority. The initial draft of the bill mistakenly granted the power to allocate land for the proposed university to the state governor rather than the president, who is officially recognized as the institution’s visitor.
“The president pointed out certain errors in the bill that needed to comply with the constitution. For instance, we mistakenly assigned the power to grant land authority to the governor instead of the president, who is the rightful visitor for the institution. We will rectify this error by replacing the governor with the president in the bill,” he explained.
Senator Yaroe reaffirmed that once these technical corrections are made, the bill will be resubmitted for approval, paving the way for the long-awaited establishment of the Federal University of Education in Numan.
A Record of Developmental Achievements
Beyond legislative efforts, Senator Yaroe took the opportunity to highlight various developmental initiatives he has undertaken across the Adamawa South Senatorial District. He detailed how he has personally funded the drilling of over thirty boreholes, ensuring access to clean water for many communities.
Furthermore, he has spearheaded free healthcare services, benefiting thousands of people in need of medical attention. His legislative efforts also include sponsoring bills designed to improve the lives of all Nigerians, facilitating infrastructural development, and advocating for policies that drive progress at both local and national levels.
One of the senator’s key priorities has been empowering students through scholarship programs. He has awarded educational grants to deserving students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic aspirations. Additionally, he has supported farmers by providing them with resources and training to enhance agricultural productivity, ultimately improving the livelihoods of many in the Senatorial zone .
Youth Empowerment and Infrastructure Enhancement
Recognizing the need to equip young people with valuable skills, Senator Yaroe has initiated training programs in solar panel installation. These programs have enabled many youths to acquire technical expertise, positioning them for employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
To address the persistent challenge of electricity supply in the region, he has also facilitated the procurement and installation of transformers in various communities. These efforts have significantly improved power supply, fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
In addition to these initiatives, Senator Yaroe has consistently worked to create job opportunities for young people in his senatorial district. By fostering partnerships and supporting entrepreneurship, he has helped many youths gain meaningful employment and become self-sufficient.
Commitment to Accountability and Stakeholder Engagement
Senator Yaroe emphasized the importance of accountability and regular engagement with constituents. He noted that elected representatives have a duty to report back to the people, keeping them informed about ongoing projects, achievements, and future plans.
“Essentially, when you elect a representative to the National Assembly, it is important to report back to the people about what you are doing, what you have achieved, and your future plans,” he stated. He added, “I convened this meeting to share my successes and to take note of all the observations, advice, and encouragement offered by my constituents.”
The stakeholder meeting served as a platform for constructive dialogue between the senator and community members. Constituents had the opportunity to express their views, offer suggestions, and discuss pressing issues affecting the region.

During the meeting, several notable figures, including Adamawa State Commissioner of Entrepreneurship Hamanjumba Gatugel, retired permanent secretaries, and local leaders, expressed their appreciation for Senator Yaroe’s dedication to the development of Adamawa South.
