Senator Binos Yaroe Leads Delegation to Speaker on Federal University of Education Numan
Distinguished Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, representing Adamawa South Senatorial Zone, paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Dr. Tajudeen Abbas (GCON). accompanied by Hon. Kwamoti Bitrus Laori and a group of influential leaders from the Southern Senatorial Zone. The delegation’s mission was to advocate for the establishment of the Federal University of Education in Numan, a project that has garnered significant attention in recent weeks.
The visit, brought together key figures from the region, including Senator Yaroe, the sponsor of the bill to establish the university, and Hon. Laori, the House of Representatives member representing Numan/Demsa/Lamurde Federal Constituency the former deputy Governor of Adamawa State Hon. Martin Babale, Hon. Mrs Alvadi Zakari Madayi And Professor Zabadi The inclusion of prominent stakeholders from the Southern Senatorial Zone underscored the collective resolve to see the educational institution come to fruition.
The Federal University of Education Numan has been a cornerstone of Senator Yaroe’s legislative agenda, aimed at enhancing teacher training and higher education opportunities in Adamawa State. The bill, passed by the National Assembly in 2024, faced a setback when President Bola Tinubu declined assent in January 15, 2025, citing a clause that erroneously assigned land disposal authority to the state governor instead of the President. However, Senator Yaroe has clarified that this was not an outright rejection but a call for corrections, expressing optimism that the revised bill will soon be resubmitted.
The proposed university is expected to bring transformative benefits, including improved educational infrastructure, job creation, and economic growth in Adamawa south and surrounding areas. Senator Yaroe, known for his community-focused initiatives such as free medical outreach and youth empowerment programs, emphasized that the institution would be a lasting legacy for Adamawa South.
