A group of elders from the Adamawa South Senatorial District paid a highly productive visit to Senate President H.E. Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, Regarding The Federal University Of Education Numan.
Yesterday, members of the Contact Committee from the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, led by Prof. Maxwell Gidado SAN, engaged in a pivotal meeting with the President of the Nigerian Senate, HE Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio (GCON).
The primary purpose of this visit, as articulated by Prof. Gidado, was to express gratitude on behalf of the Southern Senatorial District for the Senate’s support in advancing the Federal University of Education Numan Establishment Bill, which is currently pending due to technical concerns that led to a denial of assent.
Additionally, the delegation sought the Senate President’s backing for the swift reconsideration of the Bill, emphasizing its critical importance for the people of Adamawa South. They urged for the Bill’s expeditious passage and subsequent signing into law by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR, ensuring that the hopes of the constituents are not dashed.
In his response, the Senate President expressed his appreciation for the committee’s efforts and assured them of his unwavering support for facilitating not only the prompt passage of the Bill but also the necessary assent from the President.
