Sen. Yaroe Flags Off Four-Day Free Medical Outreach To Constituents in Toungo Local Government Area.

The senator, representing Adamawa South in the National Assembly, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe has flagged off his 6th free Medical Outreach in Toungo local government area of Adamawa State.

Speaking during the event, Senator Yaroe said the medical outreach will go around all 9 local government areas in Adamawa South, adding that 6 local government areas had already been covered while the remaining 3 will be covered soon.

He said after the coverage, a grand finale of the medical outreach will be carried out to mop up all remaining medical cases whether old or new in Demsa local government area.

Meanwhile, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe while flagging off the free 4 days medical outreach has taken two special referral cases and pledged to forward their bills to the Federal Medical Centre in Yola.

The cases are that of Saratu Aliya, a 6-month-old girl who was born without an anus to pass stool, and 18 years old Fatima Usman who had a growth on her right Cheek for about four years now.

The senator emphasized that medical outreach is free and welcomes people from all works of life both within and outside the state irrespective of any affiliations.

While briefing journalists at the flag-off of the medical outreach, the leader of the medical team assembled to carry out the medical services, Dr Talemon Dah, said there were enough personnel and medical equipment, and drugs to successfully accomplish the tasks.

Dr. Dah disclosed that their target was to treat 6,000 patients during the 4 days of medical outreach in Toungo which will include about 600 optometry cases and issuing of glasses, 700 Dentistry cases, about 200 general surgeries in other areas, and about 3,000 laboratory tests and counseling among other things.

In his welcome address, the chairman of Toungo local government area, Kefas Kelvin thanked Senator Yaroe for the kind gesture in addition to carrying out other developmental projects in the local government area urging him to sustain the tempo. The highlight of the flag off of the free medical outreach was the inspection of Toungo Cottage Hospital where the outreach is taking place as well as drugs.
