SEN YAROE CANVASSES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF DASIN-HAUSA DAM
The Senator representing Adamawa South in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, has added his voice for the umpteenth time for the construction of the much-talked-about Dasin-Hausa Dam, situated in Fufore LGA of Adamawa state.
The lawmaker made this remark during Wednesday plenary while contributing to a motion by one of his colleagues, on how to contain the ravaging floods across contiguous states on the Benue and Niger river bank.
“The issue of flood is a recurring matter”. “Flood has been massive in about five local governments in my zone,” Senator Yaroe maintained.
Residents in Numan, Demsa, Lamurde, Shelleng, and Guyuk local government areas, all in Adamawa South Senatorial District, have annually been experiencing untold hardship caused by floods, usually as a result of the release of large quantities of water during rainy seasons from the Lagdo dam in Cameroon.
It could be recalled that Senator Binos Yaroe had last year canvassed for the dredging of River Benue across Adamawa, Taraba, Kogi, and Benue states, aimed to serve as a permanent solution to ravaging floods wreaking havoc on citizens in the riverine areas across the River Benue valley.
